Fish was important in the diet of the Pari. Two rivers, Kenetti by the
hunting grounds and Koss near the villages, passed the hill on their way
to the swamps northwards. Fishing was an individual activity by men and
women. The rivers were drying up during the dry season. Dams were made
to catch the fish following the disappearing water. Nets were used and
spears to find and catch mudfish hiding in the riverbeds.
